The Luminos Duo
|
The repertoire of the Luminos Duo from Tigard, Oregon features a variety of styles including: 50s-60s-70s rock, New Orleans rumba-boogie, reggae, blues, jazz and Brazilian bossa. They also include some of their original songs.
They spent the last few years completely revamping their music from playing as a band to working as a duo. Their songlist now includes over 75 songs so they can customize a unique set list for each event.
This past summer (2024) they’ve played music at a yacht club, garden parties in Lake Oswego and SW Portland, and a Celebration of Life gathering that was truly a celebration! Now they’re scheduling parties for the coming holiday season.
Julie sings most of the lead vocals. She sings in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish. Along with her rosewood flute, she also plays alto flute, bongos and hand percussion. Fritz plays his digital grand piano and sings on many songs.
Besides performing with their own group Luminos, Fritz and Julie have played in classical orchestras, jazz bands, rock groups, churches, and provided music for weddings and memorial services.
They met at Wilson High School in Portland and have played music together ever since, including performances in Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean.
