The Luminos Duo
|
The 75 song repertoire of the Luminos Duo from Tigard, Oregon features songs of love with strong elements of jazz and latin styles.
They also include a variety of rock, rumba boogie, island and original songs. All of their songs are kept short and create a gentle or lively atmosphere.
Fritz consults with each client to create a custom song list for each gig.
Julie sings most of the lead vocals, including some in Portuguese and French. Along with the soft sound of her rosewood flute and the lower sound of her alto flute, she also adds hand percussion and bongos. Fritz is now playing his digital grand piano only and sings on many songs.
Besides performing with their own group Luminos, Fritz and Julie have played in classical orchestras, jazz bands, rock groups, churches, and provided music for weddings and memorial services.
When the pandemic hit, they decided to focus on their duo.
They gathered the best songs they have known over the years and created a repertoire specifically for places like country clubs, wineries and garden parties.
They met at Wilson High School in Portland and have played music together ever since, including performances in Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. It's been a "good pairing."
